Avery Dennison Features Premium Labeling Offerings to Enhance Shelf Appeal

Brand differentiators draw consumer interest to increase sales MENTOR, OHIO, September 14, 2018 – Avery Dennison’s “Change Perceptions” zone at Labelexpo Americas booth #119 will focus on premium labeling -- innovations that offer unique solutions for converters to help brand owners increase shelf appeal and drive sales. These include next-generation film technologies and an extensive wine & spirits portfolio.

“The “Change Perceptions” zone illustrates the real power of a premium label,” said Tina Hart, vice president marketing, Avery Dennison. “What makes a product stand out and why do we choose one product and brand over another? In more instances than we realize, it’s the label, or a uniquely-shaped container that is enhanced by the label. From upscale personal care products or a select bottle of wine or craft spirits, it’s a fact -- brands can and do create a ‘wow’ through creative packaging. Avery Dennison continues to expand its portfolios that create consumer desire – and that translates to sales.

Film technologies to be featured include High Performance Primax® and FasClear®, which offer manufacturers, converters and brand owners a fully conformable film solution designed specifically for challenging bottle shapes, irregular containers, tubes or where a larger “billboard” is needed. These  durable, flexible facestocks also offers a lower total applied cost across the value chain. They provide functionality and versatility for converters and brand owners with less waste, less packaging line disruption, faster run speeds and faster time-to-market.

Also highlighted will be Metallized Global Co-Ex™, a metallized version of the popular Global Co-Ex film engineered specifically for semi-squeeze applications such as shampoo or conditioner bottles, offering a higher-end look that will influence consumer perception.

Avery Dennison’s Wine & Spirits portfolio – now consisting of nearly 150 label constructions – will feature its latest products, engineered to deliver the performance and shelf appeal that lead to sales. Pure Cotton is an uncoated, 100 percent cotton white matte paper for wines and high-end beverages, ideal for those looking to enhance the consumer experience by taking advantage of the tactile trend, adding shelf appeal through the sense of touch as well as vision. It offers a velvety texture and an 80# facestock suitable for embossing.

And, as winemakers increasingly make positive progress in the environmental impact of both their production practices and packaging materials, these new products offer an environmentally friendly option, Grape Touch. Made of 15 percent grape waste sourced from wine production, Grape Touch offers an attractive, natural color to provide a closed-loop solution with dynamic shelf appeal.
